Designing A Romantic Custom Corset Wedding Dress For An Art Nouveau Wedding Styled Shoot

Blush corset wedding dress and convertible bridesmaids dresses

I had the pleasure of designing a custom corset wedding dress, matching bridal cape, a bridal robe and two convertible bridesmaids dresses for the Wedding Crash Course workshop and styled shoot which was hosted on May 15th at The Studio Middletown in Middletown, CT.

The theme for this unique event was Art Nouveau and the romantic touches from my designs and the beautiful elements featured made it an amazingly gorgeous scene that was geared to helping Wedding Photographers learn how to shoot a wedding.

The Details

The floaty tulle bridal robe featured ¾ sleeves with layered cuffs, a short train and open front design. This sheer robe was made in a champagne/blush hue and closes at the front with an optional detachable sash. Learn more HERE.

The custom corset wedding dress was made in blush organza and featured a thigh high slit and plunging neckline with pointed decorative bust neckline. The short train also has a horsehair trim for shaping. And speaking of shaping and structure, the built-in corset and bra cups plus the lace up back allows my DreamBride to cinch her gown for the exact snatched waistline she’ll love. This gown also features detachable short puff sleeves which allow you to have more than one look with this gown. Learn more HERE.

I also designed a matching hand dyed tulle cape to match this gown and give it that romantic look. The hand dyed flowers required me to experiment to get the right hue which was such an exciting part of making this gown. Learn more HERE.

Lastly, the convertible bridesmaids dresses in Teal and Terracotta were the perfect way to add a unique hue to this shoot. The jersey multiway dresses in full length allowed me to style each bridesmaid model exactly how she liked; one bridesmaid loves to high necklines to show off her arms and back so I tied her gown in a high neck style with a twisted back. The other bridesmaid model loves her shoulders so I gave her an off the shoulder neckline which also happens to be my favorite look too! My convertible bridesmaids dresses are coming soon so keep an eye out for them soon!
